Our Trip To Denmark

Copenhagen in early April, a Christmas gift for our family to visit my son Riley during his study abroad was as memorable a trip as it could possibly be. My husband, our trip-planning wizard, crafted a truly magical visit to this quaint Scandinavian gem. We braced for chilly, damp 50s, packing jeans, long sleeves, and scarves. Yet, Copenhagen greeted us with unexpected sunshine! Our central AirBNB made city exploration effortless. And the bakeries? Divine. Lattes, a rare feat for my stomach without oat milk, were pure bliss. The pistachio cream croissant and cinnamon roll Danish were undeniable highlights.
Travel's biggest draw for me is the fashion. I love observing local styles, exploring boutiques, and filling my suitcase with new finds. In Copenhagen, one trend dominated: quilted jackets. They popped up everywhere in a rainbow of pastel and light hues. Though I'm not usually a vintage shopper, Audrey Vintage changed my mind. From charming pearl hangers to soft pastel sweaters, the shop was a treasure trove. And yes, I found the quilted jacket, half off no less, now inspiring a wider quest!
I have been searching for these gorgeous jackets like crazy and have found a few. Here is a link to see the Clothes Minded selection of quilted jackets.
Visiting Denmark was delightful and seeing how my 21 year old son has navigated his time there truly warmed my heart. We were treated kindly by the locals and tried local cuisine such as smørrebrød. We loved Nyhavn waterfront, our boat ride on the canal through Copenhagen and seeing the little mermaid statue, we also took the train to Sweden as well as to Egeskov Castle. We ate all types of foods and enjoyed shopping for souvenirs. Have you ever been to Denmark? Do you like the idea of quilted jackets to wear when the weather is cool? I'm happy to tell you all about it sometime, stop in and see me at the next Painted Tree event!
